RI Republican Party Meeting

The East Providence Republican City Committee will be holding a "Meet the Candidates" Breakfast Forum on Saturday, March 13th, at the landmark Star Diner, at 140 Newport Avenue, in Rumford. The event is scheduled to begin at 9:30 AM in the Dining Room. There is no charge to attend.

The purpose of the forum is to provide an opportunity for the members of the city committee, as well as interested members of the public, an opportunity to hear directly from and to question some of our candidates for statewide and local office in an enjoyable and casual setting.

Several local office holders will be speaking, including Assistant Mayor Robert Cusack and School Committee Vice-Chair Steven Santos. In addition, John Robitaille, GOP candidate for Governor and Erik Wallin, GOP candidate for Attorney General, representatives of the RI Republican Party, and several candidates for General Assembly, School Committee, and City Council will be speaking.

There will be discussion about candidate recruitment, fundraising, and other objectives for the 2010 election cycle. In addition, we are using this event to recruit additional candidates for office. If you are a Republican (or are willing to register as one), and are considering a run for any public office in East Providence, or want to help out any of our candidates, please attend on the 13th.

This is a forum, not a fundraiser, so there is no admission charge. However, attendees are encouraged to buy something off of the Star Diner's breakfast menu. Donations to the committee are always welcome, but are not required. Importantly, if you are a registered Republican in East Providence, and are not already a member of the city committee, and you become a committee member on the 13th, the cost of your breakfast will be covered. Due to limited space, your RSVP is greatly appreciated.

The East Providence Republican City Committee has been working hard to recruit candidates for all local offices, and most especially for RI State Representatives and State Senators. Too many of our local representatives didn't even have opponents last election cycle!

2010 is going to be our year, and we want you to be a part of the action. If you are a registered Republican or would consider registering as one, and are thinking about running for any office in East Providence, please contact us as soon as possible. We want to help you.
