East Providence GOP Meeting | June 25

The East Providence Republican City Committee will hold its next meeting on Monday, June 25th, 2012 at 7:00 pm. The meeting will be held at 4 Thurston Street, in Riverside. Refreshments will be available.

A more detailed agenda will be mailed out to city committee members. However, as June 25th is the first day of the three day “declaration of candidacy” period, you can expect it to include discussion of the candidacies of those who plan on running for local and state offices in 2012.

East Bay Republicans PAC Fundraiser | June 29

On June 29th, The East Bay Republicans will have a showing of the Academy Award Winning DocuDrama “The Iron Lady”, The Story of Margaret Thatcher starring Meryl Streep.

The movie will be shown at the outdoor theater of Mark Smiley at 14 Evie Dr. Warren, RI. The movie screen is 8′ by 16′ or 214″ and is in HD as well as Dolby Surround Sound 5.1.

There will be a cookout at 6 PM that includes hamburgers and hot dogs and such. BYOB. The movie be preceded by some long lost cartoons and will begin when it’s dark enough. Popcorn will be served.

Tickets are $13 each, $24 for a couple. Please bring your comfortable lawn chair. Proceeds will benefit GOP General Assembly Candidates from the East Bay. RSVP requested. Rain date on June 30th.

RI Republican Strike Force Rally

There will be a big rally to officially kick off the Rhode Island Republican Strike Force on Monday, May 7th at 6:30pm. The event will take place at the Santa Maria Cultural Center (Holy Ghost Brotherhood Mariense) located at 846 Broadway, in East Providence. This event is open to the media.

The Republican Strike Force is a statewide group of grass roots Republicans whose mission will be to assist Republican candidates running for Rhode Island General Assembly seats. Michael Napolitano, who serves as the Lincoln Republican Town Committee Chairman and Communications Director for the RI GOP Chairmen’s Caucus serves as a co-chair of the group. Eileen Grossman, the Rhode Island GOP Volunteer Coordinator also serves as a co-chair. They report directly to RI GOP Chairman Mark Zaccaria.

Zaccaria said, “This rally will not only kick off our Rhode Island Republican Strike Force, it will also feature several of our candidates who will be running for the General Assembly in November. We have been working hard behind the scenes with many new candidates and are very excited about the 2012 election. The Strike Force has grown to over 150 members and we expect a great event next Monday night.”

The Rhode Island Republican Party sponsors and supports Republican candidates for seats in the state and federal legislatures. As with all state GOP organizations the Rhode Island Republican Party has three seats on the Republican National Committee. Please visit the state party’s web site www.rigop.org.

RI Presidential Preference Primary | April 24

PRESIDENTIAL PREFERENCE PRIMARY WILL BE HELD TUESDAY, APRIL 24, 2012 FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELECTING DELEGATES TO THE REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION.

The polls will remain open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

EPGOP Presidential Candidate Signature Party & Florida Primary Straw Poll

The East Providence Republican City Committee will be hosting a multi-city GOP Presidential Candidate Signature Party and “Florida Primary” Straw Poll on Tuesday, January 31st. The event will be held at the Santa Maria Cultural Center (Holy Ghost Brotherhood Mariense), at 846 Broadway, in East Providence from 7:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M.

Registered voters who live in East Providence, Providence, Pawtucket, or Barrington are invited to stop by our FREE event to sign the nomination papers for all of the GOP candidates for President (Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich, etc.). To get on the ballot in RI for the April 24th primary, each candidate must obtain at least 1,000 valid signatures by February 2nd. Please note that you are not required to be a Republican to sign the candidates’ nomination papers, just a currently registered voter.

Those attending may also “vote” for their favorite GOP presidential candidate in our Florida Primary Straw Poll ($1 per vote), as well as watch the results of the Florida Primary as they come in. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the candidates, local campaigns, and our city committee. Speakers include new RI Republican Party Chair Mark Zaccaria. There will be a cash bar, as well as complimentary snacks available. This event is free and open to the public.

EPGOP Biennial Reorganization Meeting | January 27

The East Providence Republican City Committee will hold its biennial reorganization meeting on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 7:30 pm. The meeting will be held at the Santa Maria Cultural Center, at 846 Broadway, in East Providence. Expect the meeting to run about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. A cash bar and refreshments will be available.

Important revisions to the EPGOP bylaws

Nomination and Election of City Committee officers for 2011 – 2013 term.

We also expect to hear brief presentations from some of the candidates who are running for RIGOP offices, for their elections to be held in March.
